At Funan, an innovative environmental technology by Datumstruct has been implemented to speed up the decomposition of food waste using aerobic processes. Also known as “food waste biodigester”, the machine is capable of breaking down both raw and cooked foods into grey water without the use of chemicals. Over at Tampines Mall, CICT has partnered with A-Smart Life to provide compact recycling machines capable of converting food waste into natural, bio-organic fertilisers with low-energy usage and at high-processing speeds. Both processes are completely green and a great alternative to traditional disposal methods, i.e. sending the discarded food to a landfill. Our teams have been actively onboarding tenants such as supermarket and food court operators to participate in the trials.
