In our on-going efforts to foster closer relations with the
community, the CMT malls have worked with various partners
and charitable organisations such as Viriya Community,
Breast Cancer Foundation, Community Chest and Lions
Home.
Some of the activities included the very
well-received Community Sunday at Junction 8 which was
held on every last Sunday of the month. Organised with
the support of the Central Singapore Community Development
Council, this event provided Singaporeans with an opportunity
to showcase their flair and talent in the Entrepreneurz
Market and Singapore Superstar talent competition.
Aimed at promoting the spirit of enterprise,
the Entrepreneurz Market provided the opportunity for
talented individuals, entrepreneurs and job seekers
to showcase their skills and served as an incubating
ground for would-be entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, the Singapore Superstar
talent competition proved to be a draw for young hopefuls.
This programme was aimed at cultivating the arts and
cultural scene in Singapore, and providing opportunities
for up-and-coming local talents to showcase their unique
talents in music, art, dance, etc.
Over at Tampines Mall, the Innovation Fair
organised by the Northeast Community Development Council
proved to be popular with Tampines residents. This event
promoted innovation amongst students in the East.
Other activities included a career and health
fair, organised by the Southwest Community Development
Council at IMM, and a national fencing competition at
Funan for children under 14.
