IMM is a unique suburban shopping mall that
houses retail shops, offices and warehouses under one
roof. It is located in the high-density residential
area of Jurong East, and in close proximity to major
office and industrial developments such as the International
Business Park. The shopping mall is positioned for the
family-oriented segment of the retail market, targeting
consumers residing and working in the western region
of Singapore.
IMM houses an array of outlets dealing in
goods and services such as furniture, interior design,
home furnishings and renovation, bridal, lifestyle,
fashion, services and food. It comprises a 5-storey
retail, office and warehouse complex with an open car
park on the ground floor and 5 levels of covered carpark
and one open car park on the roof. |
Although it is just a 5-minute walk from the Jurong
East MRT station and bus interchange, free shuttle bus services
are also available from the Jurong East, Clementi and Boon
Lay MRT stations to bring shoppers to IMM. IMM has more than
900,000 people residing in its main catchment area.
The objective for IMM is to optimise financial
performance, strengthen market positioning as the leading
suburban mall in the west and northwest regions, and continuously
enhance customers shopping experience.
In the pipeline are plans to convert the uncovered
ground level car park to better yielding retail space. In-principle
approval has been granted by the authorities for the works,
targeted for commencement in 2005. Shoppers can expect more
variety and better choices to cater to all their shopping
needs. Carpark space, however, will not be compromised; these
carpark spaces will be relocated to the decanted space on
level 5 instead, so shoppers can still enjoy adequate parking
facilities.
The first mall-wide 3-Hour Wild Wild Sale under
CapitaLands management achieved an unprecedented 60 percent
increase in shopper traffic. Along with the many artiste appearances,
community events, cartoon character shows and promotions,
the result is an increase of over half a million in traffic
count in 2003 as compared to the previous year.
The 3-Hour Wild Wild Sale will return in 2004
on a bigger scale and shoppers at IMM can expect more ground
breaking activities.
